 I hope this Robber and prey are identifiable from this photo, taken in a neutral grassland meadow, west London. The ovipositor is conical, not a blade. I haven't identified any Asilids before, so help is much appreciated.

 Thank you Susan, I am still struggling with the Asilid. Is Machimus atricapillus a possibility ? M.
