It's certainly a bit ambiguous ... tachinid or sarcophagid ... and it comes from a region that I have no experience of, with a lot of tachinid species. My reasoning for calling it a sarcophagid was mainly "gut feeling" based on: the head shape (bare red/brown eyes, rounded bare parafacial, antenna shape); vein m is bent at a sharp angle and is very concave after the bend; the thorax has quite strong longitudinal vittae. ![]() |

Can you submit any Pape identifications to the gallery? I notice we don't have this species listed (maybe not rounded though - just square )
