Hi,
Yesterday evening I took photos of a very small fly sitting in a Potentilla flower and expected to find an Anthomyiid, but the computer screen showed me a tachinid-like animal - so perhaps the unidentifiable Siphona?
Thanks for help, Sundew

Once I had a Siphona that got a species guess by Theo. But he seems to be far away...

The problem with Siphona spp. is that any guess is even more of a guess than with other genera Wink This one has no T1+2 marginals so it might be interesting but it doesn't tell me which one it might be Smile

Ok, the pics will enrich my collection of no-name Siphonas Grin. Anyhow it was fine to learn that Tachinids may be thus small.
Many thanks, Sundew

Now Theo is back, he might well confirm that the fly has to remain without species name (or have an idea... Who knows!).

I knew it - Theo would have a guess at least. A name with "cf." is extremely fine for a Siphona. Many thanks indeed,
Sundew

Well, don't count on it, in case of Siphona.
The yellow vertex is a good clue for pictures (also in other species like hokkaidensis and maculata, for instance).
