Hi,
Often I saw this nice yellow fly, but only today it allowed for some pics. Unfortunately there is some image noise resulting from chosen ISO 200. However, I suppose my fly is an Acidia cognata. Do you agree?
Regards, Sundew

Why "cf." - are there several similar species?

because in scutellum I see two spots. And in gallery the male has no spots in scutellum. I don't know if it is a variation of the same species, or another species in Acidia. Hence the cf.

The male hasn't, because the two spots are below the scutellum and can't be seen in this pic Grin. Compare with http://www.syrphi...2002a.html and the following photos!
