I think this is a Chrysops sp?
Sweden, 12-06-08-Storfors (V?rmland).

Hi Andre. Difficult to say from one picture. Probably male of Chrysops nigripes,a species restricted to the northernmost Holarctic, in Europe only in Scandinavia and northernmost Russia. More pictures and voucher specimens are welcomed :-) Libor Dvorak

Thanks for replying. Alas this is the only image I have of the animal and I don't collect. I can only show you enlarged details of this image if that will help. Please tell me if it does than I'll post them. Cheers.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
