Hello!

These flies occupied the blossoms of Euphorbia sp. They were by the dozen on this plants mating, feeding etc. Wide pasture in Hungary, with lots of blossoming Euphorbia.
Small sized ~4-5mm? (20th of May 2008). I hope someone able to identify it.

Last year this species was published in Diptera.Info under the name Poecilobothrus sp. Now I see that the most probable version is
Hercostomus fuscipennis (Meigen, 1824) [Dolichopus] *
=Dolichopus fuscipennis Meigen, 1824: Syst.Beschr. 4: 96 ** Type locality: Austria. Palaearctic: Austria, Czech, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, N Kazakhstan: Karaganda, ?Macedonia, Poland, Romania; S Russia: Krasnodar, Rostov, Stavropol?; E Russia: Khabarovsk Terr.; Slovakia, Spain, Ukraine: Crimea, Dnepropetrivsk; ?"Yugoslavia" * Hercostomus
