I found this fly (about 8-9mm long) last week in my garden in western germany. What fly is it?

It's hard to say - these flies are freshly emerged. In the first photo you can see the body is pale and the wings are slightly milky; in the second photo the wings haven't inflated yet Smile

Thank you for your answer. I didn't know this. The flies sat on some wood near the compost. So the larvae probably developped in this.
