I have difficulties identifying these 2 syrphids ... :-)

hi,

i found this 2 beauties today and i assume that the 1st one could be Neoascia as the size was 2-4mm and the 2nd could be Malangyna (4-6mm) but iam not shure. Any idea ?

Your first one is a female Sphegina sp., I have to dig in some books at home for the species (if possible from the pictures).
The second is a male Melanostoma sp., probably mellinum!
