Hi

I spotted this fly in Valega - not so far from Oporto. It was caught in a farmland... This fly I think it is a Chamaepsila rosae - Carrot Rust Fly. And as the common name says it is an oligophagous pest of carrots. Angry Who dislikes eat carrots? Pfft

I don't like carrots and it is quite ambitious to claim this female must be C. rosae as there are similar species that can only be distinguished reliably on the basis of male genitalia.
