I do not see what you mean, if you mean the black ball at the tip of the abdomen, it is the male epandrium (part of the genitalia). Best wishes, Niels-Jan Dek |

The abdominal segments are distorted. (I have seen similar in Helophilus.) As far as I know this is likely to be a developmental problem, rather than a fungus or parasite.
