After a lengthy conversation on iNaturalist, suggested as Dichaeta sp.
Looking for further ID or any other info/suggestions

Apparently a Dichaeta. To my knowledge only six species are known. Somebody should be able to identify such conscpicuous, black and white patterned fly.

Dichaeta species are dark brown to black in colour, lacking the pale dusting seen on this specimen. I would say this is Notiphila decorata (or a related species), which has a similar spiny abdomen as in Dichaeta.
