I spotted this 4-5mm fly on my house wall on 09.10.2024 in Germany, Baden Württemberg. Can the fly be identified? Thank you and best regards Bernd Bernd Rottenburger attached the following image: [85.54Kb] |

Hello, what about Palloptera quinquemaculata? Wing markings and some other details seem to fit better. Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |

Minettia has two strong reclinate fronto-orbital bristles, long, parallel ocellar setae, and a postsutural intra-alar bristle in front of the postalars. Palloptera quinquemaculata has one strong fronto-orbital bristle, divergent ocellar setae, and no postsutural intra-alar. |
