Hello, i am a french entomologist and it's my first publication here (even though I have already consulted the forum). So, excuse me if my english is not perfect and if I am wrong in the protocol on the forum.

I observed this individual in the Vercors mountain range (Isère, FRANCE), it's a Bombyliidae and it's a Villa genus, but after...

I try to use the "The Norwegian species of Villa Lioy, 1864 (Diptera, Bombyliidae)". In the first time, i considered "Wings dark brown to black coloured on the front edge", and i was arriving at Villa fasciata
. But after discussion with dipterist, perhaps it is better to consider that the wing is not so dark... and if that's the case... I'm stuck.

Do you have any idea what species these photos are, or is it safer to stick to Villa sp.?

My individual is not very successful, do we stay at the generic rank or does anyone have an opinion on the species?
