Can this Psychoda be identified ?

Could it be P. sigma ?

Unfortunately it's a female. The speciment is between 1,5 and 2 mm and found in a small forest area near a lake, North Jutland Denmark 20/05-24

And since my pictures for some reason doesn't show, here's a link to the observation on Inaturalist

When you can't add a picture the file will be too big. Unfortunately there is no warning at all.
It is not Psychoda sigma and it do not seem to be a Psychoda although the venation looks like Psychoda. Genus Mormia (and hence tribus Mormiini) maybe is a candidate, but in fact I don't know.

The antenna once was there, but maybe this pic is not close enough

Also if Mormia, it must be eatoni due to the separated eye bridge

I have some not yet carefully studied pictures of Mormia eatoni from the London museum, but that wing is different from yours. So I still don't know.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
