Hello,
I found this amazing little fly, black and very thin, on a leaf at ground level, in a small public park in Lille (North, France). It was May 14, 2024.
This part of the park was not very bright and the quality of the photos suffered.
I think it is the genus Dolichocephala in the family Empididae. Perhaps more of a male based on the appearance of the end of the abdomen.
On LMDI there is hesitation between Dolichocephala irrorata and Dolichocephala oblongoguttata, with a preference for the second species mentioned.
What is your opinion on this subject ?
Thanks in advance.
Dominique

Likely to be guttata or oblongogutta
