can this adult male Chironomidae/Ortrocladiinae
be confirmed as Metriocnemus fucipes

in the handbook-key for British species i end at couplet 7 (Fucipes) due to the hairy wings, the hind leg ratio about only 0,35, and the black legs/body.

but there are 3 remaining danish species, that are not included in the british key, and that i havent seen pictures of, or read about ?
carmencitabertarum
cavicola
terrester

I don't think the 1950 Handbook keys can be used reliably to identify species of Metriocnemus, particularly from outside Britain. Using Saether's keys and descriptions is your best way forward.
