Hello!

I found this 3.5-4 mm fly yesterday on a meadow in the moss at the stem base of an apple tree (Ostwestfalen/Germany), waving with its wings like a Sepsid. Am I right with Geomyza tripunctata? Thanks!

Yes, no doubt J?rgen, a female of Geomyza tripunctata. I have other records of this species early in the year, but it is nice to have another early record.

Many thanks for confirmation, Jan Willem! Yesterday I saw another one at a fence. But now the too early "spring" seems over. Yesterday we had sunny 14 ?C, at the moment it is 2 ?C cold...
Best regards,
Jürgen
