Today I found this fly (about 10-12 mm) on the loft of my house. It has a golden shine, Could it be a Pollenia?
I kept the fly in a pot. So I could make other pictures if needed. Which parts of the fly are essential for the species name?

Albert -
It is very difficult to name Pollenia from live specimens. With few exceptions, they can only be reliably named by examining the genitalia - not something to be attempted with even the most co-operative live specimen! Shock

OK Jan and Tony. Examining genitalia (of fliesCool) is not my thing, but still I made some extra pictures. Do you agree that my fly is a female?
