Hi,
On October 2nd I took pictures of flies that gathered around a water-filled rut in a wood in southern Brandenburg. Among them were some silvery females of Hilara albitarsis as well as a darker male. I know that males of this species are darker than females, so I would be happy if someone would confirm Hilara albitarsis for the male depicted below. Better suggestions are also welcome!
Thanks, Sundew
