During my excursion to the South of Oman this September, I saw quite a number of Asilidae (I hope) and would be very happy if you could help me to sort them out (or even better - ort them in). The region is defined by the huge Omani dessert inland, the Indian Ocean and a small strip of land between those, which is regularly watered by a summerly monsun. Huge biodiversity, although we where a little late and missed a lot.
.
The Asilidae came in two sizes, a larger ones around 14-17mm, and smaller ones with 10mm or even less - but with wonderfül eyes.

Hi,

This is, i think, a representative from the genus Trichardis. There are some publications online about this genus. It could be T. cf. leucocoma, a species cited from some neighboring Arabian countries.

Best,
Jonne

Thank you, Jonne - I add two more pictures, making it clearer?
