This tiny fly was very hard to photograph as it never stayed still for more than a couple of seconds. It was constantly on the move, running vigorously up and down the leaves and agitating its wings. It reminds me of the Muscidae Coenosia attenuato I photographed a few months ago, would I be anywhere near?![]() Rome, Italy - 3 mm Thanks, Sarah |

Tell me, do I see markings on the wings?

Unfortunately this is the only decent shot I managed to get, but from memory, no there were no markings on the wings. I hope to go back to the place where I saw it later on today or tomorrow and I'll try and get a shot from above. Sarah |

When I was "chasing" it, I thought this was the same fly as the one above, but now I look it I have a lot of doubts. But I'll put it here anyway to see what you all think.![]() Sarah |

I raise an old one :the top fly do have dark markings on wing, it is Orchisia costata in the Muscidae.
