Hello Forum,

again a species from the (artificial) alder marshland in Hagen (Germany), 175 above see level. The photograph attached I took on September 15th 2007. The plant in the background is Rubus fructicosus agg. (i.e.: Rubus vestitus) My hope: the picture is good enough for identification.

Maybe the fly is a member of the family of Lauxaniidae?

I just recognized the name in the gallery - it differs from that in my book from Sauter. Do you think Meiosimyza rorida is okay?

It might be, but the necessary details for a species identification are not visible. If you ever get the opportunity to lay your hands on the specimens you make pictures of, then we have a chance to confirm species ID. Even if you would now be able to collect a few specimens we can not be certain it is the same species as there are several of those yellow lauxaniids that may occur in the same location.
