Hi All I have few fleeting pictures of a sawfly that I haven't seen before. After searching high and low I think it might be a Dolerus sp. - Perhaps Dolerus aericeps. I found pictures of this species with forelegs that have red knees! It was working it's way through knee high grass in a woodland ride. The pronotum and mesoscutum (think that is correct) are both orange/red but there is a black mark on the latter. This doesn't match D. aericeps and so makes me doubt my original ID. Could someone help on this? Thanks, Gareth Gman attached the following image: ![]() [45.04Kb] |
