About a week ago we opened up a bag of potting soil in Juneau, Alaska. Recently several insects have shown up on our windows. I suspect they had emerged from the soil. I would really like to know the family and a lower taxon if possible. Also I wondered if they are native to Alaska.

Most likely Sciaridae, but it would be good to see a photo...
