Syrphus torvus or Syrphus vitripennis.
I have some doubts with this fly.
The 3rd femur looks more S. torvus to me but I don't see any hairs on the eyes.

Habitat : dry heathland with forest
Any help is welcome.

I think it' s a male S. ribesii: hind femur black on 2/3 of it's length, eyes bare. (Hoverflies of Northwest Europe, van Veen, 2010)

I thought the hind femur was yellow for S. Ribessi but I see it's only for females.

Thank you for your answer.

Best regards

Clearly male Syrphus ribesii.
You should edit the title bar to reflect ID.
