UK. Chilterns chalk grassland in Bedfordshire. 20 June 2022. Large Asilid. I cannot decide whether this is Machimus rusticus or Eutolmus rufibarbis. Pale base to tibia, white bristles on legs and location on chalk all seem to point to M. rusticus. Just longish sternal hairs at tip of abdomen make me unsure of my ID. Is it possible to confirm either species from these photographs please?

I will try to fix the messages this month. We have to make some other configuration changes before software goes out of support at end of year.
