Hello,

I photographed these flies in Bazzano (AQ), Italy, on October 27th 2021. I think they are members of the genus Chamaepsila, but is it possible to identify their species from these photos?

Thank you in advance,
Emanuele

Hi Emanuele, I think it's C. nigricornis:
- thorax completely black
- 3rd antennal segment completely black
- row of longer hairs ventrally on fore femur (image 1).
Greetings, Eric Kloeckner
