First thought of Stratiomyidae (Neopachygaster meromelas) but antennae seems to misfits.... Found in rather dark forest on dead aspen (Populus tremula) near Copenhagen. Thanks in advance, Ole ole attached the following image: ![]() [229.35Kb] Edited by ole on 02-06-2021 10:18 |

Reminds me of the North American Berkshiria albistylum but the antenna is slightly different. Do you have that genus in Europe? |

Berkshiria hungarica (known from Sweden) is very similar to albistylum

Hi! Berkshiria hungarica seems not to be recorded from Denmark acc. to https://fauna-eu.org/cdm_dataportal/taxon/6da81831-ebbc-4f5e-8665-a4bb1529750f Seems Berkshiria hungarica is syn. albistylum: https://www.diptera.info/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=8246&rowstart=20 I´ve heavily croped the image to show the antennae, Can the ID be confirmed? ole attached the following image: ![]() [256.4Kb] |

ID confirmed and, no, they are not synonyms. See the last post in the thread quoted.
