Hello!
Is this fly from today (from Leipzig, Saxony, Germany) Bibio anglicus or another species (Bibio hortulanus)?
Best regards,
Maik

Hi Maik, the milky wings and (if I see right) the fair hairs on the sides of the thorax lead to B. hortulanus - but I'm not absolutely sure.

Wing venation is obvious hortulanus. Hortulanus has a milky wing TIP as well shown. B anglicus has different wing venation, no milky tip and .... does not occur so far east.

Hello Eric and Theo!
Thank you very much for your help and the great tips.
