These are quite common on the beach here in south Sweden. Anyone who can identify it ?

Hmm, it kind of looks like Crumomyia pedestris (Sphaeroceridae), but the Finnish specimens I've seen at lessa hairy.

When was the photo taken? In mid-summer? autumn? yesterday?

I usually see them in may(this is the case with this one as well may 11) around banks of algae.

When I take a closer look it actually has wings, but very reduced....
