Agromyzidae, Phytomyzinae, Amauromyza (Cephalomyza) flavifrons (Meigen, 1830), the most abundant Amauromyza species in Europe (occurring also in the Nearctic Region). Host plant genera belong into Caryophyllaceae and Chenopodiaceae. In many references and the internet this species is listed in the subgenus Trilobomyza Hendel, 1931 for which it is the type species. But Spencer & Steyskal (1986: 27) synonymised Trilobomyza with Cephalomyza Hendel, 1931, being the extant correct status. 381 references are available in the forthcoming Agromyzidae database of M.v.T. A closely related and similar European species is A. (C.) verbasci (Bouché, 1847), also possessing dark antennae and a bright yellow frons. |
