It's interesting to know that bad latinization cannot be corrected, and the Anthomyza example shows why this is a necessary rule!

With reference to 33.2.3.1, I noticed that Fallen changed his mind about Heleomyza (1810) and in 1826 called it Helomyza. The rule doesn't allow him to get away with this! In fact helos (= 'marsh' ) can take either form in compounds (Liddell and Scott). Perhaps in changing his mind he was deferring to Meigen's Helophilus (1822).
