Hello everybody,
I have this male found in France (Ile-de-France) that bothers me, except it should be an Anthomyiidae, I don't know more...
A few features I noticed: all femora black, all tibias yellowish, chetae with hairs, palps yellow
Thanks for your help !

Hello Cedric, I think it's probably an Emmesomyia socia.
Greetings, Eric K

Thank you very much Eric !
Do you think we can rule out grisea with these pictures (I did not yet do research for the criteria, just read that the two species were very similar, at least for females)

I hope so, Cedric:
E. grisea: Hind femur with only 1-2 distinct pv-setae about middle which are hardly longer than femur is deep
E. socia: Hind femur with more numerous pv-setae of which one or more about middle are quite 1.5 times as long as femur is deep

from Ackland, Bentley, Brighton (2017): The British Anthomyiidae

I think that with this other picture, th pv-setae are more visible and it seems to confirm socia
