Melanostoma mellinum(female) is the correct name? Thank you very much. Slovak Republik, Terchová region on the Malá Fatra, approximately 700 m above sea level 06.07.2011.

frons and face are nearly undusted, spots on tergites are quite round laterally. For me there is no doubt that the specimen belongs to M. mellinum. |

Hi Piet, The frons and ce face are not very dusty but they are. Futhermore the two first antenna articles's are clearly orange and not brown. So for me it's always M. scalare.  P-Y |

Yes, i think than the M. mellinum of the gallery is a M. scalare too.  Melanostoma sp (female) could be a correct answer for this post, what do you think ? Like that everybody is happy ! P-Y |

I have no problems in calling this one Melanostoma sp. Pierre-Yves but I still think.... Perhaps it will find one or two other opinions later. Nevertheless we should invite Mucha Fera to pin his victims in future to solve such questions. Piet |

Yes, such specimens (rather photos ) of Melanostoma sp. are really difficult. I think it is M. mellinum - female. |
