 Anthomyia pluvialis - a touch of colour

I'm pretty sure this is Anthomyia pluvialis. I'm posting it partly for confirmation, but above all to share with you all this wonderful splash of colour in mid winter. The fruit is the strawberry tree, Arbutus unedo.  Sarah |

Hi! Thanks for the colorful pic, the outside world is pretty much black, blue & white here in Finland for now. Fortunately the winter brings not only cold and darknesss but also snow and thus snowsports  Kiteskiing rules, highly recommended if you have a chance to try!Back to the fly, it is Anthomyia as you know. Well actually in a lot of other parts of Italy it's black, blue and white as well at the moment, we're just so lucky with the climate here. There is always something flowering or fruiting. Never heard of kiteskiing! Here I suppose the equivalent is kiteboarding on the sea, Sarah |
