It's a Meromyza, but I don't think it's possible to be sure of the species from these photos.

Thank you Tony!
Obviously Meromyza is not easy:
https://diptera.info/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=102909
According to L.R.Rockwood, S.Zimmermann et T.R.Chamberlin, 1947, sited and shown in
http://aramel.free.fr/INSECTES15-90'.shtml
it should at least not be M. saltatrix but rather M. pratorum.
I don't know how many other Meromyza look similar so I will write Meromyza species.
Regards
Lars

Chloropidae; Chloropinae: Meromyza femorata Macquart, 1835. In the upper picture the typical black tip of the palpus can be seen. As well the strongly swollen hind femur being 4 times thicker than the hind tibia is a reliable feature of this common species. Dactylis glomerata ist the only confirmed host grass. Junior synonyms are M. laeta Meigen, 1838 and M. rufescens von Roser, 1840.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
