Iain's answer :
The specimen was in fact a male Lonchaea fraxina - one of the hairy eyed spring species which is not too common in collections - so it was of some interest especially with that early date of capture - here is the relevant entry in the Lonchaeidae of France paper by Phil Withers and myself. Lonchaea fraxina MacGowan & Rotheray, 2000 – Records: FRANCE: AIN, St. Jean de Thurigneux, Fondation Vérots, 6–13.v.2005, 4–16.iv.2008 and 23.iv–1.v.2013; Joyeux 15–30.iv.2003. DRÔME, Montauban-sur-Ouvèze, 1–17.vii.2001. – Remark : Rearing records for this species are from the decaying cambium of ash and aspen.

Many thanks, Iain, and best whishes.
