Hello,

I discovered this fly in Germany, in the Westerwald on 05.10.2020.

What species could it be?

Hello Heiko,

this can't be Tachinidae, it lacks the bend in the M-vein, characteristical for Tachinidae (and Calliphoridae, Sarcophagidae, Rhinophoridae...). Ist is a Phaonia female (Muscidae). Maybe Phaonia tuguriorum, but better wait for the experts.

Hi Heiko, the crossveins are only slightly shaded and there are 2 pairs of achrosticals behind the suture: most probably female P. valida.
