hi otherinsektlarvaforum,
I think this larva is something like Dichochrysa spec.?
Or is it Micromus tasmaniae?
Some larvae dress them selve with plant-trash, this one doesn't?
But my experience with these kind of insekts is not much.
I hope someone can tell some more about these specie?
size:~8-9mm

Hello,
It is hard to distinguish between Chrysopidae and Hemerobiidae. Some larva use remains of their preys to hide themselves inboth families, as far as I know. There is a way to make a distinction by the opening of the mouth parts and the proportions of the head, but I never succeeded.
By the way, there is something of the neck of this specimen...

But it's not a Diptera, it's a Neuroptera.
