Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Eristalis ?

Hello,

Help requested to Id the attached. All photographed in East Sussex, South of England.

I thought A might be E. pertinax (broad facial stripe )
and B might be E.abusivus. The other two I can't work out.

Can you put me out of my misery and assist with my further education.

A = tenax B = nemorum/interrupta C = tenax D = pertinax

tenax has the two bands with hairs on the eyes (well visible in both specimens)

nemorum/interrupta has a small, dot-like pterostigma

pertinax has yellowish tarsi
