Hi,
found on 05-September-2020 on chamomile in Offstein, near Worms, Rhineland Palatinate, Germany.
Weevil is approximately 4mm and was identified by beetle experts.
The fly was flying on his back and obviously laying eggs on the weevil. It tried to do so several times with the weevil trying to get rid of it. But I think, the fly managed to succeed.
Can the fly be further identified?
Many thanks and regards,
Stella
