Hello,

I've been finding this fly on peppermint a lot lately. Size is perhaps 6-7 mm. Its relatively thick head in relation to its body size is striking. Which species is it ?

Germany, Saarland, Bexbach, 31.07.2020, Absolute Altitude 250 m

So, please take care ! I see three different Sarcophagidae species !
Second one Miltogramma punctatum, third one possibly M. germari and first no idea.

Hello Theo

The animals fly so fast. I thought I always photographed the same animal. :S The first perhaps Miltogramma punctata ?

No. Have a close look at the black spots on last tergite. They are all “very different” (that is, to Sarcophagidae standards)

I would say that the first and second photo are both M. punctata
