This Ephydrid was swept from Hedgecourt NR, south Surrey on 28.vi.2020 - a wet woodland/reedbed site. It keyed easily to Notiphila and then seemingly satisfactorily to N. umbrosa on the basis of the 3-4 facial setae, second antennal segment yellow, scutellum dusted grey underneath with black laterally, tibiae more yellow than black and very short wing length (<3.5mm) and black 5th tergite.

Could it be possible to confirm/otherwise this specimen without a male?

Thanks, James
