Found today at the edge of a coastal bush, 20km North of Durban, KZN, South Africa. Size around 12-14mm I would guess (could be a little off). Any help to progress the ID would be great. 5 Images

I'd suggest Crabronidae, Larrini, something like
Liris diabolica (Smith, 1873)

An expert opinion from Alexander V. Antropov (Moscow):
Liris haemorrhoidalis (Fabricius, 1804). Reaching as far north as Morocco, Spain, Israel, and Iraq.
