Berlin - May 2017

Hello everyone,

I think that this tiny Nematocera is Ozirhincus sp but i'm not certain of this genus. Is it possible to tell from this photo?

Best wishes,
John

it could be Ozirhincus. It is at least close. The short R vein (pale spot at tip) and shape of antennae puts it in tribe Lasiopterini or Alycaulini.

Thank you, John.

I have been trying to place it in a genus or tribe for two years now. I really need a specimen. Plus, i have plenty of photos of it but i cannot remember the dates. I am still trying to organize and document my photos. I can always return to this post when i have a specimen. These are very tiny. Maybe 1-1.5mm? I have trouble photographing them. I try to hold my breath when i make photos. They seem like they have been drinking coffee because they never stop moving.

Best wishes,
John
