It's not modestus, which has a much shorter hind basitarsus. Nor martinii, which has no pale bands on the abdomen. Nor hortensis or territans which have pale apical bands on the abdominal segments. Which leaves pipiens and torrentium. To separate these species, characters of the male genitalia appear to be the most reliable features.
