At the beginning, I thought it was a Conops, but evdb told me that the snout was not long enough. I then looked in the genus Leopoldius. It seems that my specimen doesn't have a yellow scutellum, which, if I'm not wrong, would lead to L. calceatus.

But I'm not sure at all.
Can somebody help me?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Pierre,

You are right! A female Leopoldius calcetaus. Yellow top of the head with black frons, black anterior wing margin, black rings on femora and a black theca. Very nice find.
Recently reported new for Belgium and the Netherlands.

Kind regards,

Ectemnius
