Hi there
I saw this one fly feeding on umbellifers by the roadside at Royal Common, near Elstead ,Surrey. The area is mature deciduous woodland with plenty of open fresh water.
It may be the tachinid Electophasia crassipennis. Would welcome other opinions.
Stuart

EDIT Paul Beuk: I happened to have a copy of the picture and cropped it. Moreover, I removed the spaces and the commas from the name and now it should be okay. ;)
