Ectoparasitic Ceratopogonidae on insects are Forcipomyia and Atrichopogon. Most Forcipomyia are conspicuously hairy or have marked wings.

Other Ceratopogonidae may be predatory on insects or parasitic on vertebrates. Forcipomyia (Lasiohelea) are also parasitic on vertebrates, frogs in my area.
