Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Limoniidae?

This one could be a Limonia (Metalimnobia) quadrimaculata (Linnaeus). Or Metalimnobia quadrimaculat.

I'd agree that this looks like Metalimnobia quadrimaculata, the combination of the spots on the wings, the two dark rings on the femora and the dark stripes on the thorax match this well.

In the UK this is a red-listed :o species associated with ancient woodland, I've only seen it once (Windsor Forest). Perhaps you have more of them in Poland?:)

I think that in Poland it is also rare species. I seen many flies on Salix alba near Pilica river but only on this one place.
